Every business needs to have some sort of quality control they can rely on to ensure their product is the best that it can be. A German company is sticking with this mindset as they’re looking to hire a “cannabis sommelier” with a salary starting at $105,000.
The role of a cannabis tester is referred to as “the best job in the world” and the competitive salary is definitely urging people to apply for the position. But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows when it comes to the role.
The firm needs a cannabis expert to verify the efficacy of its products. Cannamedical, based in Cologne, recruits individuals who can “smell, feel, and smoke” its medicinal cannabis product to sell to pharmacies in Germany.
Founder and CEO David Henn said that they do this to keep an eye on the quality control of their vendors in countries including Australia, Canada, Portugal, Macedonia, and Denmark. “Here in Germany, they should also check the quality of the material delivered,” he said.
In order to weed out some of the potential candidates, the company is requesting that the possible worker be a registered medical cannabis user in Germany.
This isn’t out of the ordinary these days as around a year ago, Germany’s health minister, Karl Lauterbach, made headlines when he advocated legalizing recreational cannabis usage. He also unveiled his plan to legalize marijuana for adults and remove penalties for possessing up to 30 grams.
