Stray Dogs Cause $350,000 in Damages at Houston Dealership

A couple of strays land in the doghouse after they were caught getting into some real trouble. A pair of strays were caught on video causing an estimated $350,000 in damage to vehicles at a Houston car dealership.

The two dogs, one a bull terrier mix and the other unknown, were captured on surveillance video scratching the paint and tearing the bumpers off of vehicles in the lot at G Motors in Houston, Texas. According to the dealership’s finance manager, Imran Haq, they caused an estimated $350,000 in damage.

Haq and sales manager Gaby Fakhoury contacted the Houston animal control shelter BARC when the attacks started in November 2023. They believed that the dogs were able to get into the lot by crawling under a fence. Their business? Chasing stray cats that were hiding under the vehicles.

“We have never seen something like this — dogs attacking cars and causing damage,” Fakhoury said.

The bull terrier mix was captured back in early December 2023 and the second pup was caught on December 31, 2023. They are both currently in BARC’s care. Dasher, the first dog to be caught, has been deemed healthy and shows no signs of aggression. He is currently adoptable and the other dog is still being evaluated.
