Texas School Breaks World Record for Longest Friendship Bracelet

Friendship bracelets are a fun way to be creative with companions but they can also break world records. A Texas elementary school broke a Guinness World Record after students spent four months crafting the world’s longest friendship bracelet.

The McKinney Independent School District said that students from Valley Creek Elementary School began working on this project on November 7, 2022. The woven ribbon bracelet was completed on March 3, 2023, coming in at 2,795 feet, 9 inches.

The colors of blue, yellow and white that the student chose to go with for the bracelet represented the school colors for Faubion Middle School and McKinney High School, which most Valley Creek students will likely attend in the future.

To show off its length, the bracelet was laid out on the school district’s football field and measured by a crew from Underwood Drafting and Surveying. It was eventually determined that the bracelet officially broke the previous Guinness World Record of 2,166 feet and 11 inches.
