Airline Gives Away Free Flights if Cats Are Adopted

With everyone having the travel bug, who wouldn’t want a free flight? One airline is offering free flight vouchers for anyone who adopts one of three kittens from a Las Vegas animal shelter.

The three adorable kittens were named after U.S.-based airlines and are available for adoption at the Animal Foundation of Las Vegas, known as Nevada’s largest animal shelter.

“Meet the newest additions to our kitten nursery! Spirit’s name used to be Southwest, but due to recent events, our marketing team requested we change it. #SouthwestAirlines,” the shelter posted on Twitter. This dig comes after the drama surrounding Southwest over the last few weeks.

Frontier Airlines responded to the post, offering to give away flight vouchers for anyone willing to adopt the kittens. “This is so sweet! Thank you for the honour, @animalfndlv! We’d love to donate two flight vouchers each to the people who adopt Delta and Spirit; and four vouchers to the person who adopts Frontier,” the airline tweeted.

The shelter confirmed that they received the vouchers but they won’t be handed out until the kittens are ready for adoption later this month. “The adoption organization has the vouchers in hand and has expressed their gratitude,” Frontier spokesperson Jennifer de la Cruz said.
