Man Arrested After Robbing Store Using Cinnamon Rolls

A sweet treat can apparently be transformed into a deadly weapon. A Nebraska man used a box of cinnamon rolls to rob a convenience store before eventually being arrested by police.

Izaiah Bartu walked into a Kwik Shop convenience store carrying a Hostess Cinnamon Rolls box on his right hand and demanded money from the employee. Fearing that the container concealed a handgun, the clerk handed over the money.

The Lincoln Police Department responded to the incident and identified Bartu as a possible suspect. While speaking with officers, the 24-year-old attempted to flee on foot but was quickly detained before he could get anywhere.

According to officials, a search of Bartu turned up 4.1 grams of methamphetamine, a silver handgun and an undisclosed amount of cash. He was arrested on multiple felony counts, including robbery, possession of a controlled substance and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.
