Man Shoots Friend in Arm After He Thought Gun Was Unloaded

Shooting your friend in the arm isn’t a very nice thing to do. A Florida man is now behind bars after pulling the trigger at his friend with a gun he claimed was unloaded.

Back in October 2022, Albert Medina called the police in Boca Raton, Florida, frantically requesting an ambulance. During the call, the 35-year-old kept repeating that he didn’t know there was a bullet in the gun and that the shooting was an accident.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a 22-year-old male victim lying on the living room couch with a belt around his arm in a makeshift tourniquet. He was quickly rushed to Delray Medical Center to be treated.

The victim managed to tell officers that Medina had asked him to get something from the car. When the victim refused to do so, Medina grabbed his firearm, jokingly pointing it at the victim and pulled the trigger. Both parties assumed the gun would be empty, as the pair have joked around in the past.

The victim confirmed to police that Medina has pointed an unloaded gun at him around 10 times before. He said it has always been a joke and that he did not want to make any charges. Medina was still arrested and charged with culpable negligence that inflicted harm.
