When heading to the thrift store, you never know what you might find. A shopper made the shocking discovery of a real human skull when browsing at a thrift store in Florida.
The shopper, who happened to also be an anthropologist, was walking down the Halloween aisle of a North Fort Myers thrift store when they spotted the skull. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, they recognized the skull to be human and notified law enforcement immediately.
Deputies arrived at the store and recovered the skull, which they also believed to be that of a human. Apparently, the store owner said the skull was found in a storage unit that was bought years ago.
Posting on Facebook about the incident, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said that they would “work in conjunction with the District 21 Medical Examiner’s Office to facilitate further testing of the skull.” The case is also believed to not be suspicious in any way.
