Strip Club Patron Battered With Cash Stack by Female Worker

When money flies, tempers can also run high. A strip club patron in Florida was smacked in the face with a stick of cash by a female worker.

Police were called to Body Talk, a topless club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, to investigate an alleged battery of a male customer. The victim, John McKelvey, told officer that he was “talking to several employees of the establishment about his career” and acknowledged that the women “were upset he had not provided them any tips.”

McKelvey — who is clearly not versed in strip club etiquette — said that he “did not see any signs stating it was mandatory to tip,” which is why he didn’t tip. According to the arrest affidavit, “The employees were upset that the victim had not thrown money at them, which was a common practice at the establishment.”

Victoria Jones decided to confront the man and said that McKelvey “was drunk and being rude” and had been “following employees from table to table verbally insulting them.” The woman said she “picked up a small stack of money and threw it towards the victim,” who was struck in the face with the cash.

While she did admit the money was thrown, Jones claimed it was tossed in a “non-aggressive manner,” adding, “This is a place where money is thrown everywhere.” The club’s surveillance cameras recorded Jones and McKelvey’s exchange before Jones hit the man with the cash and followed up by smacking him in the face.

Jones was arrested for battery and was released early yesterday from the county jail after posting a $500 bond. She is currently scheduled for a March 15, 2024, arraignment.
