Tattoo shops can be a place where people leave with regrets if the final result doesn’t match the desirable vision. A woman broke down after discovering that her $72 tattoo of a lion fell way short of expectations. There was nothing majestic about this lion and the lion inking left the woman in a pool of tears.
At the start of the appointment, Lydia Sawyer presented the tattoo artist with a detailed sketch of the lion she wanted as a tattoo to represent her Leo star sign. The 23-year-old wanted it drawn on the back of her ear so she wasn’t able to follow along as the job was getting done.
When the service was finished, Sawyer wasn’t happy with the final look and wants to cover up the inking. It’s not cheap as she now has to pay over $360 for laser removal.
Sawyer shared her sad story with TikTok users and warned them to think twice before doing spontaneous tattoos. ”Don’t go for a walk-in tattoo just because you’re bored,” Sawyer said.
“The artist said he couldn’t do my design as detailed as I showed him but he would do the best he could.”
“It was behind my ear so I couldn’t really see it. But over the next few weeks, I began to hate it. It cost me £60.”
Sawyer made a series of bad decisions when it comes to tattoos. Behind her other ear, Sawyer had the initials of her now ex-boyfriend. After they broke up, she wanted to erase the old memories so she went for a cover-up and that’s when she thought a lion tattoo was a good idea to add to the mix.
She said: “I went to go get it covered up a few weeks ago, as I was going to get another covered up on the other side. It was my ex-boyfriend’s initials.
“I got that covered up but he said the lines on this one (the lion) were too dark. I had to look into getting it removed first. They said I would need a few sessions to lighten it up at £40 a session.”
“I’ll need around eight sessions of laser. But it’s so painful and sensitive on this area of skin so I’m leaving it at the moment.”
Her video has been viewed over 48,000 times and people are expressing their thoughts on the disappointing situation. One user said: “How did they manage to get it that wrong.”
Another user added: “Bro made merlion.”
Someone else said: “There’s no way that’s the picture you showed the artist.”
Going from romantic love to self-love didn’t do this lady any good. They both resulted in cover-ups.
