Being stuck in prison can apparently be pretty boring. A Florida inmate decided to punch a corrections officer in the face to spice up her time in the slammer.
A deputy was escorting Jazmyne Levesque to a pod inside the Pinellas County jail when Levesque attacked. The 23-year-old claims she hit the officer because she “was bored” and “had nothing else to do.”
That wasn’t even Levesque’s first fight of the day. She “was already in a couple of fights earlier in the day” to try to get rid of her boredom. Levesque was charged with a felony count of battery on a law enforcement officer. According to the arrest affidavit, the deputy was “taken to a walk-in clinic for treatment.”
Levesque was originally arrested for throwing punches at a municipal bus driver and getting in a female cop’s face. She allegedly yelled at the cop: “I am threatening you right now! Do your fucking jobs you idiot!” She was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and assault on a public transit employee. It seems like punching people may just be a part of her personality.
At the time of her most recent arrest, Levesque was free on bond in a felony grand theft case. She had been charged with stealing almost $2,400 worth of merchandise from an Ulta Beauty store in Tarpon Springs. Police found 87 cosmetic items stashed in her purse, which she planned on using to “beautify” herself.
