Company Seeks Poommellier Willing to Sniff Poo for Money

If the smell of poo doesn’t make you cringe in disgust, there is a unique job in the market. A company that makes its mission to end the “poo taboo” has kicked off a search for the world’s first Poommelier. Five participants will be given a $1,790 training grant for their poop-sniffing skills.

Successful applicants make a living by smelling poo all day long. It’s not a straightforward task to take a whiff, as training is involved to get educated about human feces. The training will help the workers get a better understanding of digestive health and nutrition.

Nutrition brand Feel Complete is motivated towards empowering people to take control of their gut health. Out of the five selected applicants, one of them will be given the prestigious role of the world’s first poommelier at Feel Complete.

As for the job criteria, applicants are required to be aged 21 and over, available to meet the training schedule and have great attention to detail.

Lead nutritionist at Feel Complete Hannah Macey said: “Nobody’s poo smells good but particularly foul-smelling poos may also be a sign of other health problems. An imbalance of your gut bacteria, known as dysbiosis, may result in more methane gas being produced by your gut, which may be detectable either as unpleasant-smelling wind or poo.

“Certain food intolerances such as lactose intolerance, certain gut infections, or inflammatory bowel disease may also result in extremely bad-smelling stools. If you have any changes in your bowel movements it’s important to see a GP or gut health expert.”

Aaron Providence, founder and CEO of Feel Complete added: “It’s all about breaking down that poo taboo. In the U.K. in particular it’s something people avoid talking about, often out of embarrassment, but we know that our bowel habits and stools provide an invaluable window to our health, which makes knowing the sights to look out for very important. In a perfect world, we’d all be our own Poommeliers.”

There’s no shame in poo and valuable insights can be taken from the stinky stools. Five lucky individuals will be digging deep for interesting findings. Bathroom breaks can inspire their creativity and thinking.
