Convicted Man Walks Freely Out of Courtroom

Courthouses aren’t always packed with uptight people who are rigid with the rules. In a court in Arkansas, a convicted man walked out of the court campus and no one noticed or bothered to stop him. There were no guards stopping him from making the exit. The man walked out as if he was leaving the comforts of his home.

The video of the incident was trending on YouTube and the vibe from the clip feels a bit too laid back for a place that is meant to adhere to strict laws. In the video, while the jury was in the middle of determining the verdict, a man ditched the confining space to declare his freedom.

The defendant was identified as Joey Watts, who was charged with aggravated assault and a felony for possessing a handgun. The irony is that Watts had already been found guilty and given a lengthy prison sentence by the law but he decided to walk away despite the law.

People were minding their own business and no one kept an eye on the accused. The courtroom was full of people who let the man slip away. In the video, the attorneys and officials were busy conversing with one another, which made it easy for the man to stroll toward his escape.

Although it was a smooth exit, it was a short-lived escape. The next day, he was captured and arrested for his convictions. Watts received a 36-year prison term, with 10 years for the attack and 26 years for the gun possession. It was a nice attempt but you can only run so far from the laws.
