Driver Speeds to 120 MPH While Jamming to Stereo Tunes

Save the leg moves for the dance floor, not the driver’s seat. Nicholas Bernard, a 19-year-old motorist, got carried away with a good song that came on his stereo and he sped his Honda 120 miles per hour on an Iowa interstate. Catchy tunes are not a valid excuse for the police who are more concerned with public safety than an upbeat musical vibe.

A witness spotted Bernard on the road with his reckless driving as he was speeding and “swerving all over the road.” They immediately reported the incident to a sheriff’s deputy who later saw the suspect vehicle as it darted past him at 100 miles per hour.

The car was eventually pulled over more than two miles up Interstate 380. During the investigation, the driver confessed to driving up to 120 miles per hour. Bernard stomped on the accelerator “because a good song came on” the stereo in his 2006 Honda Accord EX. His flow to the beat could have led to casualties on the road, but fortunately, no injuries to him or others.

Things went downhill for Bernard when a deputy found a “large amount of marijuana” in the compartment. It was not hidden and the deputy readily caught sight of the substance. A search of the vehicle revealed a smoking pipe and other drug paraphernalia.

Reckless driving and drugs don’t mix well and he was subject to charges for both activities. Going at a high speed in a high state led to cops crashing the solo party.
