Getting Tatted for the Queen

Tattoos aren’t cheap so it’s important to spend your money wisely when getting new ink. A royal superfan spent over $1,500 getting inked with two tattoos of the Queen to commemorate her reign.

Graham Wilson was saddened to hear of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing so he went the extra mile in order to properly pay his respects. Wilson isn’t new to tattoos and felt that this was the perfect way for him to remember her.

The 54-year-old came up with a tattoo design that includes two images of Her Royal Highness, one from when she was younger and the other from near the end of her legendary reign. In total, Wilson spent £1,400 or $1,605 on his new ink, displaying it proudly on his left thigh — the leg he says he has dedicated to ladies.

“I absolutely love it. I’m ecstatic and so proud of it. I loved the Queen, you could really relate to her no matter who you are. She’s iconic and I just wanted to pay homage to her,” Wilson said.

On September 13, Wilson got the first bit of his tattoo completed, which was a picture of the Queen at her coronation. The next day, he returned for a seven-hour session to get the second image of the late monarch added.

His tattoo plans don’t stop there. In the future, Wilson also wants to have a Union Jack drawn in the background of the two faces but hasn’t gotten it completed yet.
