Holidays were kicked off with a bang for a couple in Florida when ornaments started flying around the residence. Frankie Caldwell, a 55-year-old man, attacked his girlfriend in the head with an “angel figurine” during a Christmas morning fight in the couple’s residence.
Through the force of the toss, Caldwell caused the ornament to shatter to pieces and the 53-year-old victim told police that fragments of the figurine were found all over her dress. The woman has been his girlfriend for nine years with cycles of separation and togetherness.
Initially, Caldwell attempted to switch up the story by denying that he attacked the victim. Instead, he claimed that she had hit him with the angel figurine. Police confirmed that Caldwell had no injuries to his bald head while the residence and her injuries were consistent with the victim’s story.
Caldwell was “arrested on a pair of felony battery counts and booked into the county jail, where he remains locked up in lieu of $7,500 bond.” A judge has ended the relationship by forbidding Caldwell from contacting the victim.
It’s safe to assume that no angels will be watching over this heartbroken couple.
