Man Gets Tattoo in Exchange for Subway for Life

What would you do for free Subway sandwiches for life? One man discovered he would get a tattoo advertising the new Subway Series menu.

James Kunz scored his Subway meals free for life, which was awarded in the form of $50,000 worth of Subway gift cards. To win the prize, the Colorado man ended up getting a 30-centimeter-by-30-centimeter tattoo inked on his back in Las Vegas.

Subway allowed Kunz to lose weight when he was younger and he figured this would be the perfect homage to the sandwich chain. “I’m a huge fan of Subway, so I thought about it and I thought, ‘Well, maybe I should fly out to Las Vegas.’ I’m thrilled to have made it this far and to have actually gotten the big tattoo. I’m proud of it,” Kunz said.

Eight other contestants submitted similar tattoos but in smaller sizes. They were given free sandwiches for a year, awarded as $4,380 in Subway gift cards.

This Subway promotion was used to promote the restaurant’s new Subway Series menu, which offers 12 as-is sandwiches, instead of customizable ones. They’ve also given away one million free subs.
