Two Dogs Tie the Knot in Fancy Wedding Ceremony

Can you really put a price on joy? Indonesians pulled off an extravagant wedding ceremony for a dog couple that cost over $13,200. The happy couple were wagging their tails in a lavish setup with a crowd of people celebrating their union.

The wedding was officiated by a religious leader and the two Alaskan Malamute dogs were looking sharp in traditional Javanese costumes. The outfit was custom-designed to ensure a good fit for the bride and groom. The wedding took place at a dog park in Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta.

Jojo and Luna were hitched by their owners, Valentina Chandra and Indira Ratnasari. In a TikTok video, you could witness the wedding ceremony that was conducted with the Javanese customs.

For the wedding menu, there was a dish called Nasi Kuning with the dogs’ names spelt on the dish. This dish is commonly served at Indonesian celebrations and it is believed to bring on blessings of wealth and prosperity.

These dogs were definitely blessed by their owners. Initially, the owners didn’t plan to host a wedding for their two dogs and it was supposed to be a birthday party for Jojo. Rather than throwing a birthday bash, they thought of transforming it into a wedding ceremony.

The wedding costs came from the wedding venue, costume design, make-up, lighting, and goodie bags for guests. The owners didn’t cheap out on the canine ceremony.

Whether or not these dogs actually wanted the wedding ceremony, that’s a different story.
