If you’re in debt, this woman may have created a new hack to try to get out of it. All you have to do is fake your own death.
An Indonesian woman allegedly posed as a corpse and had her son upload the photos to Facebook in order to get her out of having to pay a $268 debt. Her attempt didn’t exactly go as planned as the woman who had lent her the money was able to uncover the truth.
According to her creditor, Liza Dewi Pramita had already asked for an extension on the loan because she couldn’t pay her money back but when the second deadline was about to expire, the woman’s son announced her tragic death online, along with photos of the woman’s dead body.
Digging deeper, Maya Gunawan was able to find the holes in Pramita’s story. Gunawan knew the woman from an online arisan group that they were both members of. Gunawan had never met Pramita in person but when the latter asked her for a loan, she asked some of the other group members about her, to which none of them had anything bad to say about her. Gunawan eventually agreed to lend her the money, under the condition that Pramita pay it back by November 20, 2022.
Pramita failed to make the first deadline, as well as the December 6 extension. On December 11, Gunawan was shocked to learn that the woman had died. Pramita’s son announced that she had tragically died in a car accident on a bridge in Medan. He also posted photos of the woman’s body with her eyes closed, as well as of a gurney and medical staff pushing a dead body covered with white sheets.
At first, Gunawan was saddened by the woman’s passing but when her son announced that Pramita would be laid to rest in Aceh Tamiang, which was unusually far from her home, Gunawan questioned everything.
She decided to do some digging and looked into the photos more carefully. After searching the photos, Gunawan discovered that the ones not showing the woman’s face were simply taken from the internet in an obvious attempt to stage her death.
After confronting the boy about the photos, he admitted that the whole thing had been a farce orchestrated by his mother in order to get out of having to pay her debts. Unfortunately, even after this revelation, Pramita was still nowhere to be found and Gunawan may never receive her money back.
