Woman Returns Costco Couch After Over Two Years

Not sure if you’ll like your couch in a couple of years? No problem, just make sure to buy it from Costco. A Costco customer who purchased a couch from the retailer over two years ago decided to test its return policy by bringing back the furniture because she “didn’t like it anymore.”

Jackie Nguyen posted a TikTok video about her decision to test Costco’s return policy. She mentioned that while she didn’t have the original receipt, she did know when she bought the couch, which allowed a Costo clerk to process the return and issue a refund.

“I told her the date I bought it. She looked it up in the computer, told me exactly which one it was. That was it,” Nguyen said. “She asked me if there was anything wrong with it. I said I just didn’t like it anymore. They gave us a full refund to his card; so yeah, it worked.”

According to Costco’s website: “We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell, and will refund your purchase price.” Since this wording is rather generic and lists no timeframe for returns, apparently anything goes.

While Costco’s return policy is vague, there are exceptions when it comes to certain products. Things like electronics, alcohol, cigarettes and diamonds cannot be returned.
