Bears are resourceful animals that can sniff out food from a mile away. A North Carolina family got a first-hand view of a bear breaking into their van and stealing a bag of popcorn.
Teniesh Pinnix posted a video about her experience on Facebook. She was able to record the bear as it invaded her family’s Tennessee cabin grounds and broke into a vehicle for a bite to eat. The caption for her post read: “I’m in the mountains look what I see this morning. I have never seen anything like this.”
Pinnix recorded the video as the bear investigated the outside of their rental cabin in the Gatlinburg area. The animal tried to open several locked vehicle doors until it was lucky enough to open the door of an unlocked van.
The bear rummaged around inside the van before taking a bag of popcorn and leaving the area. Apparently, the same animal had also broken into another nearby car and stole a bag of chips.
“I’m from Caswell County and there are some strange animals out there but I have never seen a bear,” Pinnix said. “Don’t go leaving anything in your car.”
