Coffee Chain Creates World’s Largest Cake Ball

Celebrating an anniversary and breaking a world record go hand in hand. A Nebraska-based coffee chain baked its way to a Guinness World Record by assembling an 848-pound cake ball in celebration of its 25th anniversary.

Scooter’s Coffee assembled the cake ball during its annual Grow Conference at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, the city where the brand is based. Despite being an efficient assembly, the plans have been in the works for two months.

“It took a lot of planning, a lot of errors, a lot of failure. But we all came together. We have a great team at Scooter’s. My bakery team is the best. They were able to come up with so many great ideas, and through those trials and errors, we were able to be successful,” Senior Bakery Manager Kevin Mosher said.

Attendees at the Grow Conference got a chance to try the cake ball and any remaining slices were donated to the Saving Grace Perishable Food Rescue. The resulting cake ball weighed in at 848 pounds, beating the previous record of 628 pounds set by England’s Sheffield Wednesday Football Club back in 2017.
