Golf Course Turns Into Obstacle Course During Winter Season

When winter rolls around, many golf courses have to shutter their businesses for the off-season. To celebrate the end of the winter, a Baltimore golf course held its annual “Superintendent’s Revenge Scramble” event.

The event at Mount Pleasant Golf Course turns the fairway into an obstacle course for golfers and their balls. Golfers taking part in the event had to deal with unusual fairway and green hazards including giant box fans, tractors, wooden pallets, garden hoses, hay bales and more.

“Nasty pin placements, stuff that you normally try to avoid, we give them the green light to go ahead and put a couple of them on the slopes today,” Ed Miller, Mount Pleasant’s golf professional, said.

According to the golf course’s website, the course features the toughest setup possible. “Players will be subject to unusual hole locations, tee marker placements and whatever other things the superintendent’s mind conjures up. Random pieces of maintenance equipment will be placed in less-than-desirable places. Needless to say, it will be interesting and fun,” the website reads.
