Purchasing any item that is literally out of this world is something that most people don’t get the chance to do. A French luxury brand recently unveiled a limited-edition “meteorite” handbag that’s hand-carved from a meteorite that fell on Earth thousands of years ago. How they were able to get their hands on that, we’re not quite sure.
As part of its Fall/Winter 23 fashion collection, French luxury accessory brand Coperni has created a unique handbag that “combines archeology, design, as well as classical and primitive art.” The Mini Meteorite Swipe Bag is shaped to resemble the brand’s iconic swipe bag but has a rougher finish since it’s hand-sculpted from rock.
The bag supposedly contains a piece of meteorite estimated to have fallen on Earth 55,000 years ago, with each purse being different from one another because of the hand-sculpted element. And history comes with a price tag, a whopping $40,000 price tag that is.
While that is quite expensive for any accessory, the bag also has some weight to it. It’s allegedly around two kilograms for an empty bag so make sure you have some muscle before actually planning on carrying it around.
