Pole-Dancing Skeletons Forced to Move After Controversial Placement

While Halloween may be over now, the spooky fun continues. A Utah man’s pole-dancing skeleton display was no laughing matter to someone as it was forced to be moved from a public street sign.

Christopher Fujishin put up a Halloween display next to the road outside his Grantsville home to celebrate the spooky season. It featured a purple-wigged skeleton doing a pole dance on a road sign while other skeletons watched and offered up their money.

This didn’t sit right with city officials who wrote in a now-deleted post online that the display violated city code by using the street sign for its dancing pole. The post said that the owner of the decor had until 9 p.m. that night to take them down or they would be confiscated by the city.

Fujishin still wanted the hilarious display up so he decided to move the skeletons to his yard, making it bigger and better than before. Some local residents who saw the city’s viral post have even started coming by to add their own decorations to the display, which now includes lights and music.

“We look forward to keeping this going and getting a little more elaborate as we go,” Fujishin said. He admitted that the display is “maybe a little risqué for some people, but it’s all in the name of fun.”

The homeowner also dismissed any criticism that the skeleton pole dance might be inappropriate for children. “If your kids understand what that is maybe the problem’s not the skeleton dancing on the pole, maybe it’s something else,” Fujishin said.
