Police Reveal Body Reported in Canal Was a Mannequin

Mannequins can eerily resemble humans from time to time depending on the situation. A dive team in Ontario, Canada, responded to a report of a suspect body floating in a canal to only discover that it was actually a mannequin.

South Simcoe Police said officers responded to a report of a body floating in a canal near Canal and Pumphouse roads in Bradford, Ontario, on March 22, 2023. To retrieve the body, the York Regional Police Dive Unit was called to the scene.

Divers were able to recover the floating object, which happened to actually be a mannequin that had been thrown into the canal.

South Simcoe Police posted about the incident on Facebook. “Officers assisted by the York Regional Police Dive Unit determined it was a mannequin. There are no criminal concerns at this time,” the post read.
