SkyWest Flight Delayed an Hour After a Cabin Crew Feud

The pilot couldn’t spread the wings for departure on a SkyWest flight after two crew members were budding heads at the start of the journey.

The flight was scheduled to depart from Los Angeles, California, and land in Houston, Texas. The dispute between the workers resulted in an hour delay for the passengers on board and it’s not a stellar representation of the airline with an unprofessional team.

The fight occurred after a passenger in the first-class section requested to switch seats with someone in the economy class so she could sit beside her spouse.

One woman’s desire to be glued to her husband paired with two strong-headed crew members just added more complications to the flight journey.

A male flight attendant was willing to accommodate the request but his female colleague put her foot down by declining the request. The staff were yelling at each other regarding the airline’s rules and regulations. Neither one of them was willing to lose the argument and walk away with a bruised ego.

“They kept bickering and going back and forth in the middle of the aisle about the rule and what was right and what was wrong,” Ashley Brewer, who posted about the fight on TikTok, said.

The fight got more dramatic when the air hostess decided to exit the aircraft and the gate crew had to mediate the situation.

By the end, both crew members were kicked off the aircraft with new replacements but it was still a lengthy mess to navigate that took about an hour to resolve.

In response to the incident, SkyWest Flight released a statement: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused and regret the delay this caused for our passengers. We hold all of our employees to the highest standards of professionalism, and we are currently looking into this flight internally.”
