Stranded Cat Leaps From Atop Utility Pole

It’s not out-of-the-ordinary that a cat finds it’s way into a tricky situation. A cat in Newfoundland, Canada, leaped from the top of a utility pole instead of getting rescued by workers.

Alice Reid said that her cat, named Coco, was most likely chased up the pole by a neighborhood dog. The cat cried for the two hours it spent on top of the pole before a rescue attempt was made by utility workers.

Reid filmed a video of the incident without having any idea as to how it would end. Coco decided to play hero anf evaded the grasp of works by jumping from the top of the pole into the brush below. The video Reid took was posted on her Facebook page.

“I never, in a million years, thought that he was going to jump on his own,” Reid said.

Coco took off running after landing on the grown but he later showed up at home perfectly intact. “He came up the step and went on in,” Reid said. “Then he lied down on the floor and started washing himself like, you know, nothing ever happened.”

Reid said that Coco is now quarentined for the time being. “He’s crying to get outdoors and I’m trying to keep him in,” she said. “He’s going to have to get used to being in the house more.”
