Truck Spills 10,000 Wine Bottles Onto California Highway

If you’re looking for some cheap wine, you might have to look elsewhere. The California Highway Patrol was called to a highway after a truck overturned and spilled its load of 10,000 empty wine bottles into the roadway.

The CHP’s Santa Rosa office said that the truck overturned on Highway 101, near Healdsburg, California. Due to the accident, the trailer had ripped open, spilling the nearly 10,000 empty wine bottles that were inside.

The California Highway Patrol posted about the incident on Facebook. “No other vehicles involved and the driver wasn’t injured,” the CHP wrote in the post.

The cause of the crash was unclear. Clean-up crews responded to the mess and assisted in repairing a guardrail that had been struck during the accident. The right lane of the highway reopened once the area was cleaned up.
