When looking for a fast food meal that will hit the spot, most aren’t turning towards a cheese sandwich. Burger King Thailand recently introduced the “real cheeseburger,” which features 20 slices of American cheese and no meat.
Burger King Thailand announced on Facebook that the “real cheeseburger” launched in locations across the country, saying that “This is no joke. This is for real.” The 20-slice cheese sandwich sells for $3.10, which is much less expensive than the $10.90 prize tag for a traditional beef cheeseburger.
The unusual menu item went viral online, causing at least one Burger King location in Bangkok, Thailand, to suspend delivery orders for the sandwich to ensure there was enough stock for in-store customers. Apparently, everyone wants to get their hands on one of these burgers.
Those who have tried the sandwich haven’t been too impressed. Customer Im Jeepetch said that she usually likes cheese on her burgers, but “this was a bit too much.” “I could only finish half of it,” she said. “This is an insane amount of cheese added into one burger. Food is good when things are at the right combination.”
