Car Drives a Christmas Tree to “Unofficial Record Speed”

With the holidays still in full swing, companies are trying to see what they can do to be unique with their marketing campaigns. Hennessey, a Texas-based hypercar manufacturer, has set an unofficial Christmas record.

For some holiday fun, the car company attached a Christmas tree to their Venom 1000 Mustang GT500 and with the Grinch behind the wheel, the car reached a top speed of 192 miles per hour. Not too shabby.

The car that assisted in achieving the speed was a modification of the most powerful Mustang of all time, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Hennessey upgraded the car to include a high-flow induction system, new fuel rails and injectors and an air/oil separation system. Even with it being a fun experiment for the festive season, the result was a complete success.

The company made sure to create a fun promotional video about the test, which shows the Grinch stealing the Christmas tree from two men to fit on top of the tree.

Transitioning to a real test driver, the experiment also proved that the power and performance of their vehicles is still there, even with a large Fraser Fir Christmas tree atop their car.
