Dog Lover Visits 67 Pubs in a Day

Heavy liquor drinking may be injurious to health but when there is a world record on the line, a determined man decides to chug down the shots with no limit.

Nathan Crimp, a 22-year-old man, broke the Guinness World Record by ordering a drink at 67 different pubs within 17 hours. He took the record for the most pubs visited in 24 hours when hitting up establishments in Brighton, England.

Crimp wasn’t pub crawling alone as he had two friends, Ollie and Archie, to beat the previous record of 56 pubs, which was set by Gareth Murphy over the span of 10 hours in Cardiff, Wales.

Guinness eligibility requirements were that Crimp has to order a drink at each pub and collect evidence including receipts and witness signatures. The drinks don’t have to be alcoholic beverages as virgin drinks still count but the temptation was real for this lad.

“The plan was to try and keep it sober for the first 25 pubs but that went out the window 15 pubs in. I had to mix it up a little bit, I tried to drink alcohol in one and non-alcoholic drink in another — trying to space it out,” Crimp said.

Crimp set out on this mission to collect funds for a dog trust. He was inspired to make an impact at the shelters after his dog named Kara had to be put down in October 2020 after becoming ill with cancer. Since the COVID-19 pandemic has dropped off, dog shelters have been overwhelmed with the number of dogs and the money raised can support their efforts in securing a home for these dogs.

Drinking for a good cause was worth it. He had a lit day with a good view of the pubs and their restrooms. “The hardest part was constantly having to go to the toilet, which took up the majority of the time,” Crimp added.
