Working at a specific location certainly has its perks but those don’t usually involve stealing from your employer. A Georgian gas station employee decided to take a little off the top and stole lottery tickets and other items from the store she worked at.
Debra Collins was working at the Sunoco gas station on Smith Road in Floyd County, Georgia, when she stole $3,000 in cash. If that wasn’t enough, Floyd County Sheriff officials said the 60-year-old also managed to take a cash amount of $722 in state lottery tickets.
An investigation is ongoing to determine if Collins later attempted to use the stolen tickets to enter the lottery for a chance to win the state’s jackpot. The woman was arrested and charged with theft by taking.
