Flying is already one of the biggest hassles out there, let alone having to do it when you’re seated beside someone who can’t control their gas. A farting passenger caused an American Airlines flight traveling from Arizona to Texas to be delayed.
According to a user on Reddit, they were on a flight traveling from Phoenix, Arizona, to Austin, Texas, when a man was “audibly disgruntled” about something and that he was also grumbling under his breath.
After most of the passengers were seated, the user says they overheard the disgruntled man tell another traveler, “You thought that was rude? Well how about this smell?” before passing gas. He proceeded to complain about the smell of food from other passengers and got into an argument.
Flight attendants had to reportedly intervene to calm the disgruntled man. As the plane headed towards the runway, it was announced that the plane was returning to the gate where the disgruntled man was forced to get off the plane. The flight was ultimately delayed about 15 to 30 minutes before taking off for Texas.
