Game of Chicken Ends With Arrest in California

When playing the game of chicken, there’s always someone who ends up on the losing side of things. A two-vehicle crash was reported in California with police officers describing it as an intentional head-on incident.

Redding CHP received a call at 6:41 a.m. about a two-vehicle crash on the 7000 block of Deschutes Road in the Palo Cedro, California, area. When they arrived, officers discovered only one driver at the scene of the crime.

According to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on November 29, 2023, in what officers described as an intentional head-on crash. Investigators called it “a game of chicken gone wrong.”

“Deputies arrived on scene and learned from witnesses that the individual who was located was likely the victim and the collision appeared to be intentional, however, he was uncooperative in providing a statement as to what occurred. The individual did advise the unidentified party purposely struck his vehicle and assaulted him before they both fled the scene,” the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook

A man was arrested by law enforcement after CHP Northern Division Air Ops and a witness helped officers locate one of the drivers. The investigation remains ongoing as officers continue to search for the unidentified party.
