Going to Jail for a Selfie

Next time you have a sip of alcohol, make sure you’re not too far gone, otherwise, you could end up behind bars. Police had to arrest a suspected drunk driver after he approached an officer asking to take a photo with a police cruiser.

Ontario Provincial Police in Ontario, Canada, posted to Twitter claiming that an Elgin County man was arrested after trying “to have a photo taken with a police vehicle.” The OPP officer was approached by the impaired driver at a Heritage Line address.

Despite being a cool photo idea, a selfie just wasn’t in the cards for this man. The unnamed 18-year-old resident of Bayham, Ontario, was arrested at the scene. Maybe next time, he’ll walk up to an officer with his request while sober. It might make for a better impression.

“As a result of the interaction, they were taken into custody without incident and subsequently charged with impaired driving offences,” police said.

Who knew that alcohol really does impair judgment? The proof is certainly in the pudding.
