Lifelike Sex Dolls Lead to Identity Fraud by Motorists

A popular sex doll ended up being the perfect tool for crimes in Australia. A sex doll retailer sold out of a realistic-looking model and they were leaving the warehouses to end up in the hands of motorists who were using it to dodge fines.

As per traffic rules, some highways can only be used by vehicles carrying more than one person. This rule is enforced with street cameras.

Motorists realized you can trick the cameras by putting a life-sized sex doll in the passenger seat when driving along the Eastern Freeway. According to Wild Secrets’ marketing manager Adam Lea, once drivers found a loophole, the Donna sex doll began selling out.

It’s an expensive doll that costs $5,500 but motorists were willing to pay the price for a sexy sidekick who can get them out of the rules.

“This has never happened in the company’s 30-year history. The reason behind this sudden spike in sales, all of which are in Melbourne, seems to be as travel partners for people using the Eastern Freeway,” Lea said.

He added: “The awful traffic on the Eastern has resulted in a coup for us. People are buying dolls so they can use the much faster transit lane.”

Lea said there’s been a surge of new purchases, with one customer even admitting that the sex doll purchase was purely to trick the cameras.

“Sometimes it would be only two a month… but then all of a sudden, recently, it was hourly sales, and now we don’t have any left… the only reason we can think of is the Eastern Freeway,” Lea said.
