The claw machine is a tricky arcade game that can frustrate even the best players. Really wanting one of the toys in the machine, a little girl decided to climb inside and learned a valuable lesson in the process.
Poppy Pike and her family were at a restaurant in Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia, when the young child found herself in a predicament. It was Poppy’s mother, Melanie, that discovered the four-year-old girl trapped inside the machine.
“At first we just thought her arm was stuck until we walked outside and saw her fully in the machine,” Melanie said.
Apparently, Poppy’s older sisters had convinced her to get inside the claw machine in order to grab some teddy bears. Thankfully, the child was able to get out relatively quickly by directing herself back through the hole she had originally entered.
Once Poppy had freed herself from the machine, she was instructed to return the stuffed animals that she had taken while inside. “She stole two teddy’s [sic], which I made her give back to the bar staff to teach her a lesson about stealing,” Melanie said.
