Mummy Found in Man’s Food Delivery Bag

Love can manifest itself in strange ways; a 26-year-old man couldn’t stay away from a pre-Hispanic mummy. Julio Cesar Bermejo was so devoted to the remains that he kept them tucked close to his own body.

Bermejo was later caught by Peruvian police, with the mummy in a red food delivery bag. The remains are estimated to be between 600 to 800 years old.

Bermejo named the mummy as “Juanita” and addressed the lifeless skull as “my spiritual girlfriend.” Every man’s dream is probably to have a lady that doesn’t fight back. He has even gone the extra mile to serve the mummy. “At home, she’s in my room, she sleeps with me. I take care of her,” he said.

According to reports, the remains were discovered by three men who were drinking in a deserted park in the Peruvian city of Puno.

“A 26-year-old man had a delivery bag labeled ‘Pedidos Ya.’ Inside they found a mummy,” senior agent Marco Antonio Ortega, who is a spokesperson for Puno region’s National Police, said. Pedidos Ya is a Latin American food delivery app.

The plot twist is that Juanita is actually an adult male and is believed to be from the eastern area of Puno. The mummy was transferred to the Ministry of Culture, which has classified the mummy as a national cultural asset.

Bermejo will remain in detention while investigators look into the case.
