School Creates Record-Breaking Paper Snowflake

Creating art can also break world records. A Texas art teacher and a handful of his students set out to break the Guinness World Record for the largest paper snowflake.

Will West and 14 of his students at Dunbar High School in Fort Worth, Texas, teamed up to create a massive paper snowflake, measuring 58 feet in diameter. The group worked together to fold and cut a giant sheet of paper into a snowflake.

To add a signature twist to the design, the snowflake even incorporates the words “Dunbar” and “Fort Worth” in it. That’s just in case you might have forgotten who may have broken the record.

The school posted about their record-breaking attempt on Facebook. “On March 4, 2023, students from Fort Worth’s Dunbar High School shattered a world record by cutting the world’s largest paper snowflake,” the post read.

The school has submitted the snowflake to Guinness World Records for official recognition. The current record-holder was crafted by Northern Illinois University Photography students in March 2022 and measured 44 feet and 6 inches in diameter.
