Subway Introduces Cadbury Creme Egg Sandwich

While Easter has come and gone, this festive creation was too weird not to talk about. Fast food chain Subway created a new sandwich just for Easter: The Creme Egg Sub Melt.

The Creme Egg Sub Melt is just as strange as it sounds and features an ooey, gooey Cadbury Creme Egg on a six-inch bun. The fast food restaurant made the announcement for the sandwich on Instagram which read: “Friday. For one day only. Grab yourself a FREE SubMelt made with Cadbury UK Creme Egg.”

Only 500 of the special sandwiches were made and available in select locations in London, Liverpool, Swansea and Glasgow. “Our Italian White Bread and Cadbury Creme Eggs make the most flavoursome combination — a perfect seasonal treat,” Rusty Warren, Subway’s senior manager of new product development and innovation, said.

Charlotte Docker, brand executive for Cadbury Easter Eggs, added: “The highly-anticipated Creme Egg season is in full swing and we’re so excited to launch this innovative product with Subway as a final hoorah of the season.”

A video of the insane creation was also shared online. Many people do enjoy the Easter eggs so it comes as no surprise that several users were definitely intrigued by the flavor combination.

One user wrote: “That looks amazing.”

Another added: “They’re like… ‘Bet you won’t be able to tell which has more sugar — our regular bread or the Cadbury filling!”
