World’s Richest Beggar Has a Net Worth Over $1 Million

You might need to get advice from a beggar for wealth accumulation. An Indian man was nicknamed as the “world’s richest beggar” after he collected change on the streets of Mumbai and media outlets calculated his net worth to be over $1 million.

Bharat Jain earns between 2,000 and 2,500 rupees (approximately $25 to $30) every day by asking people for donations. Jain selects crowded areas for his begging spots such as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station (CSMT) and Azad Maidan. After several years, he has made a sizeable income and it’s quite impressive considering there isn’t a lot of skill that goes into pocketing the money.

Jain has built a reputation for himself as a wealthy beggar. His net worth is expected to be about “$1 million and includes a two-bedroom flat in Mumbai and two shops in Thane that rent for $365 per month.” His monthly income is estimated to fall between $731 and $914, significantly higher than most middle-class Indians.

Jain doesn’t have any education and he had to beg to provide for his family. Despite not having the financial resources to attend school, he was able to educate his children. His kids completed their education in convent schools and are holding down a steady job.

Jain’s family is persistent on telling him to get off the streets since the family is able to afford their lifestyle without the begging. However, he is adamant about hitting the streets for the extra change.

For those brainstorming lucrative career options, don’t rule out street begging.
